PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

nylkenbry.info is an impersonation phishing page that presents itself under the title "Audit Process". It poses as a legitimate service's verification or review step so that crypto users trust it. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-14. As of 2026-10-19 the site was still online and serving its phishing content.

How the scam works

Fake "audit" or "verification" pages rely on urgency. The victim is told their account or wallet must pass a check before they can keep using it, withdraw, or avoid a freeze. They are then walked through a form that collects whatever the operator needs, typically login credentials, one-time 2FA codes, or wallet secrets such as a recovery phrase. Anything submitted goes straight to the attacker, who can use it to take over the account or empty the wallet.

Evidence

On 2026-09-24, 14 of 89 VirusTotal engines classified the domain as malicious. The engines flagging it include BitDefender, ESET, Fortinet, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, G-Data, Gridinsoft, alphaMountain.ai and ADMINUSLabs. Because several of these feed browser and endpoint protection, the warning reaches many users. The domain also appears in 5 AlienVault OTX threat pulses, which means other researchers have tracked it independently. Among blocklists, it is currently carried by PhishDestroy.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered through Dynadot Inc on 2025-09-30, almost a year before PhishDestroy detected it. That gap suggests it was either held in reserve or operated quietly before being exposed. Its address belongs to Cloudflare's network, geolocated to Canada, so the server actually hosting the content is hidden behind the proxy. The site uses a free Let's Encrypt certificate, so the padlock in the browser says nothing about whether the page is legitimate.

What to do

If you filled in the "Audit Process" form, change the password for that account immediately and sign out all active sessions. If you entered a 2FA code, reset your two-factor setup, and replace SMS codes with an authenticator app or hardware key. If you typed a recovery phrase or private key, treat the wallet as compromised and move your funds to a new wallet created on a clean device. Ignore any follow-up messages that ask you to "complete" the audit. Defenders should block nylkenbry.info at DNS and proxy level, search their logs for past visits, and contact any affected users.
