ledger-tw.com is a phishing site that impersonates Ledger, the hardware wallet maker, and targets people who keep crypto on Ledger devices. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-10-07, just six days after the domain was registered. The site has been offline since 2026-10-12, its content blocked at the provider level, and it was still dead when last checked on 2026-10-19.
How the scam works
Ledger impersonation pages copy the look of official support or firmware screens and tell visitors their device needs to be synced, updated or verified. The goal is to get the victim to type the 24-word recovery phrase into a web form. Ledger never asks for that phrase online. Anyone who has the phrase can rebuild the wallet on their own device and empty it, and the hardware wallet offers no protection once the phrase is out. On this domain the page title showed only a generic "Loading…" with no brand name, while we classified the site as Ledger impersonation.
Evidence
Ten of 92 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain as of 2026-10-11. The flagging vendors were ChainPatrol, CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet, Gridinsoft, Kaspersky, Seclookup and SOCRadar, a mix of crypto-focused and general security vendors. The domain is also listed on the MetaMask and SEAL blocklists alongside PhishDestroy, so wallet users with those protections would have been warned. It appears in four AlienVault OTX threat pulses, which means other analysts tracked it independently.
Infrastructure
The domain was registered on 2026-10-01 through Fewmoretaps OU, doing business as Trustname.com. It went live and was caught within a week, which is typical of short-lived brand-squatting domains that are used briefly and then abandoned. Traffic ran through Cloudflare, Inc. on an address that geolocates to Canada. Because that is a Cloudflare edge address, it does not reveal where the actual server was hosted.
What to do
If you typed your recovery phrase into this site, treat the wallet as compromised. Set up a new wallet with a fresh phrase on your Ledger device and move any remaining funds to it immediately. Never reuse the old phrase. If you only visited and entered nothing, no action is needed, but get firmware and Ledger Live only from Ledger's official channels. Defenders should block the domain and look in mail and web logs for Ledger-themed lures that pointed to it.
