greatdiscountdeal.com is an impersonation phishing site that imitated Microsoft and generic webmail sign-in pages. It targeted people with Microsoft or other email accounts. Despite a domain name that suggests online shopping, the page was built to harvest logins, not to sell anything. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-14, and the site has been offline since 2026-10-14. It was still dead at the last check on 2026-10-19.
How the scam works
Victims typically arrive through an email or message link and see what looks like a Microsoft or mailbox login prompt, often framed as a security check, an expiring password or a shared document. Anything typed into the form goes to the operators. They can then read the mailbox, reset passwords on linked services and send further phishing from a trusted address. The page title served was "Not Acceptable!", a server error string, while the brands detected on the page and our classification point to credential-harvesting impersonation.
Evidence
On 2026-09-22, 13 of 89 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain. Vendors included Google Safe Browsing, Kaspersky, Fortinet, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, alphaMountain.ai, CyRadar, Gridinsoft and Lionic. That is a minority of engines, but several of them are major filters that browsers and mail gateways rely on. Google Safe Browsing classifies the site as social engineering. urlscan.io returned a malicious verdict and recognised both Microsoft and generic email branding. The domain also appears in three AlienVault OTX threat pulses and on the PhishDestroy blocklist.
Infrastructure
The domain was registered through Namecheap on 2021-09-15, almost exactly five years before PhishDestroy detected it. That pattern fits an aged or repurposed domain, which can slip past filters that distrust newly registered names. It was hosted in the United States on a network registered to Oracle Corporation and used a free Let's Encrypt certificate. The padlock therefore said nothing about the site's legitimacy.
What to do
If you entered a Microsoft or email password on this site, change it immediately. Also change it on any other service where you reused it. Turn on or re-register multi-factor authentication, sign out all active sessions, and check your mailbox for forwarding rules or unfamiliar app permissions the attackers may have added. Warn your contacts if strange messages went out from your account. Defenders should block the domain at mail and web gateways, search logs for clicks or form submissions to it since 2026-09-14, and force credential resets for any users who reached it.
