PhishDestroy threat report
gain-hook.com is an impersonation phishing page that urlscan.io matched to the Cloudflare brand. It sits on the MetaMask and SEAL blocklists, so it was aimed at people using crypto wallets. PhishDestroy first saw it on 2026-09-17. It went offline the next day, 2026-09-18, and was still dead when last checked on 2026-10-19.
The page showed only the title "Loading…", a generic placeholder rather than a brand name, while we classify the site as impersonation. Fake Cloudflare-style screens like this pose as a routine browser or security check, the kind of interstitial most people click through without thinking. Once the visitor trusts the page, these schemes typically push a wallet connection, a signature request or another action. That step hands control of funds or credentials to the operator. Because the page borrows the look of infrastructure people see every day, nothing about it feels like a crypto offer, and that is the point.
Wallet-focused defenders acted first. MetaMask and SEAL both blocklist the domain, alongside PhishDestroy. urlscan.io returned a malicious verdict and identified Cloudflare as the imitated brand. On VirusTotal, only CRDF flagged it, 1 of 89 engines on 2026-09-17. Coverage among general antivirus vendors was thin at that point. Four AlienVault OTX threat pulses also reference the domain, which shows other researchers tracked it independently.
The domain was registered on 2026-09-09 through Fewmoretaps OU, which trades as Trustname.com. That was eight days before PhishDestroy detected it. The short gap and the one-day lifespan after detection fit a throwaway domain built for a brief campaign. The site sat behind Cloudflare's network, with the address placed in Canada, so the real origin server is hidden. That also means the brand it imitated and the service fronting it were the same name. Its free Let's Encrypt certificate gave visitors a padlock, which says nothing about whether the site is legitimate.
If you connected a wallet or signed anything on this page, move funds you can still reach to a fresh wallet. Then revoke token approvals granted to unfamiliar addresses using a reputable approval checker. If you typed a seed phrase, treat that wallet as fully compromised and stop using it. If you entered a password, change it and turn on two-factor authentication. Defenders should block the domain at DNS and proxy level and search logs for visits between 2026-09-09 and 2026-09-18. Users should learn that a real Cloudflare check never asks for a wallet connection or a recovery phrase.
