PhishDestroy threat report
ca-coinsquare-auth.webflow.io is a credential phishing page that impersonated the sign-in screen of Coinsquare, the Canadian cryptocurrency exchange, under the page title "Coinsquare | Login". The "ca-" and "auth" in the subdomain were chosen to look like an official regional login portal. It targeted Coinsquare customers. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-11. The site has been offline since 2026-09-23, and on 2026-10-19 the address returned no content.
Victims typically reach a page like this through a link in an email, text message, search ad or social post claiming there is an account issue, a security check or a pending withdrawal. The page copies Coinsquare's login form, so anything typed into it, such as email address, password and often a one-time 2FA code, goes straight to the attacker. With those credentials the operator can sign in to the real exchange account and move out funds before the owner notices, or reuse the password on other services.
Independent detection was broad. VirusTotal showed 19 of 89 engines flagging the domain on 2026-09-20, including BitDefender, ESET, Fortinet, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Emsisoft, alphaMountain.ai, CyRadar and Chong Lua Dao. Google Safe Browsing listed it as SOCIAL_ENGINEERING, which triggers warnings in major browsers. urlscan.io returned a malicious verdict and recognised the Coinsquare branding on the page. It is also on the PhishDestroy blocklist.
The page was not on a domain of its own. It sat on a free subdomain of Webflow's hosted site builder, so the operator had nothing to register and could stand up a convincing copy quickly. Traffic was served through Cloudflare, Inc. from an address located in Canada, which matches the Canadian audience the brand serves. From first detection on 2026-09-11 to going offline on 2026-09-23, the page stayed live for under two weeks.
If you entered your Coinsquare login on this page, change your Coinsquare password right away from the official app or a bookmarked address. Then reset your 2FA, sign out all active sessions and review recent withdrawals and whitelisted addresses. Change the same password anywhere else you use it, and contact Coinsquare support if you see activity you do not recognise. Defenders should block the webflow.io subdomain and search mail and proxy logs for visits or inbound links to it, since related lures may still be circulating.
