Overview

mgmlasvegas.cc is an impersonation phishing page that presents itself as "MGM Las Vegas" and borrows the name of the well-known casino resort brand. It targets people who trust that name, especially gamblers and crypto users drawn in by promises of casino play or rewards. PhishDestroy first saw the domain on 2026-10-14. As of 2026-10-19 the site still answered, but its DNS was no longer serving the scam content.

How the scam works

The page uses the MGM Las Vegas title and branding to look like an official casino or loyalty portal. urlscan.io tagged it as a crypto scam. That points to a familiar pattern in which victims are asked to deposit cryptocurrency to play, invest or unlock a bonus. In schemes like this, balances shown on screen are fictitious. Withdrawals are blocked or tied to further "fees", so the victim loses every deposit, along with any account details or personal data entered on the site.

Evidence

15 of 92 VirusTotal engines flag the domain as of 2026-10-18. The vendors include BitDefender, ESET, Fortinet, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, G-Data, Gridinsoft, CRDF and alphaMountain.ai. That is a meaningful spread of independent security vendors for a site only days old. urlscan.io returned a malicious verdict, and Spamhaus lists the domain in its DBL under the phishing category. It also appears in four AlienVault OTX threat pulses and on the PhishDestroy blocklist.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered through NameSilo, LLC on 2026-10-10, just four days before PhishDestroy detected it. That short gap is typical of throwaway scam domains spun up for a quick campaign. The site sits behind Cloudflare's network in the US, which masks the real origin server. The .cc extension, rather than the brand's official domain, is another sign the page is not genuine.

What to do

If you sent cryptocurrency to this site, do not pay any "withdrawal fee", tax or verification charge it demands. Those payments only add to the loss. Record the transaction IDs and report them to your exchange and local law enforcement. If you created an account or entered personal or payment details, change any reused passwords, enable two-factor authentication and alert your bank or card issuer. Defenders should block mgmlasvegas.cc at DNS and proxy level and watch for lookalike MGM-branded domains on cheap TLDs.
