BIMI
BIMI (Brand Indicators for Message Identification) lets a domain with an enforcing DMARC policy publish a logo that supporting mail clients show next to authenticated messages.
How it works
The record at default._bimi.domain points to an SVG logo and, for most providers, a Verified Mark Certificate proving the trademark.
BIMI rewards strict email authentication; it does not by itself block phishing.
How to protect yourself
- Treat the logo as a sign of authenticated mail from that exact domain, not as proof the content is safe.
- Deploy DMARC enforcement before considering BIMI.
