PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

vvgol.xyz is a domain on the PhishDestroy blocklist that shows visitors nothing but a page titled "Loading". It does not visibly imitate any brand, and no specific scheme has been confirmed yet. PhishDestroy first saw it on 2026-10-06. As of 2026-10-19 the server was still responding, but the domain's DNS was no longer resolving to content.

How the scam works

A blank "Loading" screen is typical of pages that wait for a script, a redirect or a visitor check before showing their real content. On crypto-fraud domains, that hidden step often leads to a wallet-connect prompt, a credential form or a redirect to another site. The evidence shows a domain that security engines treat as malicious. It does not show which of these paths vvgol.xyz uses, so any prompt to connect a wallet, sign a transaction or enter login details there should be refused.

Evidence

On 2026-10-07, 9 of 92 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain. Among them were Kaspersky, BitDefender, Sophos, Fortinet, G-Data, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, alphaMountain.ai and LevelBlue. That is a modest share of engines, but the vendors are well-established and work independently of each other. Spamhaus also lists the domain in its DBL as a spam domain, which points to its use in unsolicited campaigns. PhishDestroy is the only blocklist in our set that carries it so far.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2026-08-15 through Global Domain Group LLC, 52 days before PhishDestroy detected it. That gap leaves room for the domain to be set up and promoted before being noticed. It is hosted at 46.29.26.38 on AS132359 (M/S ROBI TRADERS), with the server located in Finland. A Let's Encrypt certificate gives it a padlock in the browser, which says nothing about whether the site is safe.

What to do

If you visited vvgol.xyz and connected a wallet or signed anything, open a token-approval checker and revoke any permissions you do not recognise. Move any remaining funds to a fresh wallet if you approved a transaction you did not understand. If you typed a password, change it everywhere you reuse it and turn on app-based 2FA. Never enter a seed phrase on any site. Defenders should block the domain and its IP at DNS and proxy level, and search logs for any users who reached it.
