PhishDestroy threat report
v1-ledger.org is a phishing page that impersonates Ledger, the hardware wallet maker. It targets Ledger owners, and the "v1" prefix makes it read like an official versioned Ledger service. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-04. The site has been offline since 2026-09-15 and was still unreachable when last checked on 2026-10-19.
Ledger impersonation pages usually show a fake security alert, firmware update or wallet "verification" step. The goal is to get the visitor to type in the 24-word recovery phrase that protects their hardware wallet. Anyone holding that phrase can rebuild the wallet on their own device and empty it, and the hardware device offers no protection once the phrase is out. Ledger never asks for a recovery phrase on a website, so any page that does is a theft attempt.
Fifteen of 89 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain as of 2026-09-14, the day before it went dark. The flagging vendors include BitDefender, Fortinet, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, G-Data, alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, CyRadar and Chong Lua Dao. Spamhaus lists it in its DBL under the phishing category, and it appears on the MetaMask and SEAL blocklists as well as PhishDestroy's. Ten AlienVault OTX pulses reference it, so several independent researchers tracked this domain separately.
The domain was registered through Hosting Concepts B.V. d/b/a Registrar.eu. It resolved to 45.74.7.27 on the Omegatech LTD network in Great Britain. The site went offline about eleven days after PhishDestroy first flagged it. That short lifespan is typical of phishing domains that are used briefly and then abandoned.
If you typed your Ledger recovery phrase into this site, treat the wallet as compromised. Set up a new wallet with a fresh phrase on a trusted device, then move any remaining funds to it immediately. A PIN change does not help, because whoever holds the phrase does not need your device. If you only browsed the page and entered nothing, no action is needed beyond staying alert to follow-up emails or messages claiming to be Ledger support. Defenders should block the domain and its IP, and should search mail and proxy logs for users who reached it between 2026-09-04 and 2026-09-15.

Saved certificate metadata. Certificate dates without a timezone are shown as stored. Transport encryption does not establish that the site is trustworthy.
An estimated time describes an observation window. It does not prove a registrar action or the exact moment a site became unavailable.
Dated changes retained by the monitor and source collectors. Newest observations appear first; source states are not proof of a takedown.

“We are writing to report a phishing website operating at v1-ledger[.]org, a domain built to impersonate the Ledger cryptocurrency wallet and take the funds of anyone who trusts it. The domain publishes an application manifest that declares an installable app named "Ledger Live" — the exact name of Ledger's genuine product — set to open in standalone mode. Once a visitor installs it, the window runs with no address bar, so the person sees only "Ledger Live" and cannot tell that the software is n”
