The pluralized, misspelled domain is built to pass for the real launchpad when traders follow a link from social media or search results. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-27. As of 2026-10-19 the domain no longer resolves in DNS, so the page is offline for now.
How the scam works
Fake launchpads copy the look of a real token-creation platform and invite visitors to connect a wallet so they can launch or buy a coin. The "launch" or "buy" button then asks for a signature or transaction that hands the attacker control of the visitor's tokens, either through a direct transfer or an unlimited spending approval. Victims usually discover the loss only after the wallet is emptied.
Evidence
Four of 91 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain on 2026-09-27: alphaMountain.ai, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet and Gridinsoft. That count is low, but it came within days of registration, and other sources independently reached the same verdict. Spamhaus lists the domain in its DBL with a phishing classification. ScamSniffer, which focuses on wallet threats, also blocks it, as does PhishDestroy. Four AlienVault OTX pulses reference it as well.
Infrastructure
The domain was registered on 2026-09-18 through NICENIC INTERNATIONAL GROUP CO., LIMITED, nine days before PhishDestroy detected it. That short gap is typical of throwaway domains set up for a single campaign. The site sat behind Cloudflare, with the address geolocated to Canada, which hides the real origin server. A free Let's Encrypt certificate gave the page a padlock, which says nothing about whether it is legitimate.
What to do
If you connected a wallet to stonksfuns.xyz, use a token-approval checker to review and revoke any approvals you granted while on the site. If you signed anything you didn't fully understand, move your remaining funds to a fresh wallet. Never share a seed phrase with a site, and treat any request for one as proof of theft. Reach StonkFun only through its verified official channels. Defenders should block the domain and watch for lookalike variants in DNS and proxy logs, because the DNS outage may be temporary.
