PhishDestroy threat report
refundledger.com is an impersonation phishing site built around the Ledger hardware wallet brand. Its name pairs "refund" with "Ledger", which points at Ledger device owners who might expect compensation, a reimbursement or a returned payment. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-10-09. As of 2026-10-19 the domain was still live and redirecting visitors elsewhere.
Fake Ledger refund pages promise money back, such as compensation for a past data leak or a reimbursement for a device order. To claim it, the victim is told to verify their wallet, usually by typing the 24-word recovery phrase into a web form or by downloading a fake Ledger Live update. Anyone who has that phrase controls the wallet, so the attackers can drain every asset it holds without touching the physical device. The page title is just the bare domain name, so the refund framing in the address does the persuading.
On 2026-10-17, six of 92 VirusTotal engines marked the domain as malicious or phishing: CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Gridinsoft, SOCRadar, VIPRE and desenmascara.me. That is a small share, but these are independent vendors reaching the same verdict within days of the site appearing. The domain also shows up in four AlienVault OTX threat pulses, so other researchers are tracking it as well. PhishDestroy lists it on its blocklist.
The domain was registered through Namecheap on 2026-10-06, just three days before PhishDestroy detected it. That short gap between registration and active use is typical of disposable phishing domains set up for a single campaign. The site is hosted in the United States on the PONYNET network operated by FranTech Solutions.
If you typed your Ledger recovery phrase on this site, treat the wallet as compromised. Reset the device, create a new phrase, and move any remaining funds to the new addresses right away. Ledger never asks for your recovery phrase and does not handle refunds through web forms. If you installed software from the page, uninstall it, scan your computer, and reinstall Ledger Live only from Ledger's official source. If you signed any transactions, review and revoke token approvals for the affected addresses. Security teams should block the domain and its redirect destination, and watch for lookalike domains that combine the Ledger name with words like refund or claim.
