PhishDestroy threat report
pollymarket.digital is an impersonation phishing page built on a one-letter typo of Polymarket, the crypto prediction market. It targets traders who mistype the name or follow a lookalike link. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-03. The site has been offline since 2026-10-11, and the hosting provider has blocked its content. The page itself carried the title "PolyTanuki" rather than the Polymarket name, while the domain and our classification point to Polymarket impersonation.
Polymarket users trade with crypto wallets, so a convincing clone gives attackers a natural reason to ask visitors to connect a wallet or sign in. Pages like this usually present a familiar-looking trading or claim screen and then request a wallet connection, a transaction signature or a token approval. Once a victim approves, the attacker can move funds or tokens out of the wallet. If the page instead collects login or recovery details, the account itself is lost. The doubled "l" in the domain is the only visible giveaway.
On 2026-09-13, 17 of 89 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain. The vendors included ChainPatrol, alphaMountain.ai, BitDefender, CRDF, ESET, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet and G-Data, a mix of crypto-focused and mainstream security vendors. MetaMask and SEAL list it alongside PhishDestroy, so wallet users with those protections would have been warned. Spamhaus lists it in its DBL as a phishing domain. It also appears in four AlienVault OTX threat pulses, which shows other researchers tracked it independently.
The domain was registered through Global Domain Group LLC on 2026-09-02, and PhishDestroy detected it the very next day. That timing fits a domain created specifically for this campaign. The site was served through Cloudflare's network with a Canadian geolocation, which hides the real origin server behind the proxy. Its Google Trust Services certificate gave the clone a valid padlock, so the padlock was no sign of legitimacy.
If you connected a wallet to pollymarket.digital, review and revoke any token approvals granted around that time using a reputable approval checker. If you signed unfamiliar transactions, move the remaining assets to a fresh wallet. If you typed a seed phrase into the site, treat that wallet as compromised and empty it immediately. If you entered a Polymarket login or email, change the password and enable 2FA. Defenders should block the domain, hunt for other Polymarket typos on cheap TLDs, and add the "PolyTanuki" page title to detection rules for related clones.
