PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

novalink.markets is classified by PhishDestroy as an impersonation phishing page, a site built to pass itself off as a service people already trust. Its name and .markets ending suggest a trading platform, and it targets crypto and trading users. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-08-10. As of 2026-10-19 the domain still responds, but its DNS no longer points to active content.

How the scam works

Impersonation pages copy the look, wording and login flow of a real platform so visitors believe they are on the genuine site. Anything typed there, such as usernames, passwords, one-time codes or recovery details, goes straight to the operators. They then use those details to take over accounts and move funds. Some versions also push victims to deposit money into an account they will never be able to withdraw from. The page title currently shows a generic "Default Web Site Page", while our classification is impersonation phishing.

Evidence

Five of 89 VirusTotal engines flag the domain as of 2026-09-21: alphaMountain.ai, Chong Lua Dao, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Gridinsoft and SOCRadar. That count is modest, so many browsers and security filters will not yet warn visitors. The fact that these vendors work independently of one another still supports the verdict. The domain also appears in four AlienVault OTX threat pulses, which means other researchers have tracked it in their own investigations. Among the blocklists we monitor, it is listed only by PhishDestroy.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2025-08-31 through NameCheap, Inc., almost a year before PhishDestroy detected it on 2026-08-10. That long gap suggests the operators may have held it in reserve before putting it to use. It sits at 68.65.121.227 on Namecheap, Inc. shared hosting in the US. Its Sectigo DV certificate only proves control of the domain and says nothing about who runs it, so a padlock icon here offers no reassurance.

What to do

If you entered a password on this site, change it right away on the real platform and on any other account that uses the same password. Then turn on app-based two-factor authentication and review recent logins and withdrawals for anything unfamiliar. If you deposited funds, do not pay any extra "fee" or "tax" offered to release them. Record the transaction details and report them to your bank or exchange and to local authorities. Defenders should block the domain and its hosting IP at DNS and proxy level and add it to mail filters. They should also check logs for users who visited after 2026-08-10.
