cielo-sanibel.online is an impersonation phishing page that presents itself under the name "Cielo". It targets people who believe they are dealing with the genuine Cielo brand. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-08-08. On 2026-10-19 the domain was still alive and serving a redirect, so visitors can still land on it.
How the scam works
The page carries the title "Cielo" so that a visitor arriving from a link, ad or message sees a familiar name and assumes the site is legitimate. The "-sanibel" suffix and the inexpensive .online extension are meant to look like a regional or official variant of the brand rather than a stranger's site. Impersonation pages like this ask for whatever the real brand would plausibly request, such as account logins, card or payment details, personal information or a booking deposit. Anything typed in goes straight to the operators. The redirect means the domain can quietly forward visitors to whatever destination the operators choose at any moment.
Evidence
Independent detection is thin. On 2026-09-23, 4 of 89 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain: alphaMountain.ai, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Gridinsoft and SOCRadar. Four AlienVault OTX threat pulses also reference it, so other researchers have tied it to malicious activity. PhishDestroy is currently the only blocklist listing it. Most browsers and filters are therefore unlikely to warn a visitor before the page loads.
Infrastructure
The domain was registered on 2026-08-05 through Network Solutions, LLC. It was caught only three days later, which fits a site created for a short-lived campaign. It is hosted in the United States on Network Solutions' own hosting network. The Sectigo domain-validation certificate puts a padlock in the address bar, but that only proves someone controls the domain, not that the site belongs to Cielo.
What to do
If you entered a password on this site, change it on the real Cielo service and anywhere else you reused it, then turn on two-factor authentication. If you submitted card or bank details or paid a deposit, contact your bank or card issuer at once to block the card and dispute the charge. Watch for follow-up emails or calls that cite your submission, because impersonators often come back for a second payment. Defenders should block the domain at DNS and proxy level and search mail and web logs for any users who reached it.
