PhishDestroy threat report
birdwellbeachbritchesco.shop is a fake online store posing as Birdwell Beach Britches, the California board-shorts maker, under the page title "Board Shorts Since 1961 | Birdwell Beach Britches". It targets shoppers who search for the brand and land on a lookalike domain with an extra "co" and a .shop ending. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-10-16. As of 2026-10-19 the site was still online and serving its storefront.
Shops like this copy a real brand's name, product photos and heritage messaging, then advertise steep discounts to push quick checkouts. The buyer pays and receives nothing, or receives a cheap item that bears no relation to the order. The victim loses the purchase money and also hands over their name, address, phone number and card details, which can be reused for further fraud. The "Since 1961" tagline borrows the real brand's credibility to make the site look established.
urlscan.io rates the site malicious and specifically identifies it as a fake shop, which matches our classification. VirusTotal coverage is thin. Only alphaMountain.ai, 1 of 92 engines on 2026-10-16, flags it, so most security tools will not warn visitors yet. The domain appears in 3 AlienVault OTX threat pulses, and PhishDestroy is currently the only blocklist listing it.
The domain was registered through Dynadot Inc. on 2026-04-27, about five and a half months before we detected it. That gap suggests it was either held in reserve or ran quietly before drawing attention. It is hosted on the Malakmadze Web LLC network in the US. It uses a free Let's Encrypt certificate, so the padlock in the browser says nothing about whether the shop is legitimate.
If you ordered from this site, contact your card issuer or bank right away to dispute the charge and request a chargeback, and ask for a replacement card. Watch your statements for unfamiliar charges. Be wary of follow-up emails or texts about "delivery problems" or refunds, since scammers often reuse the contact details collected at checkout. To buy Birdwell products, go directly to the brand's official site rather than a search ad or social media link. Defenders should block the domain, add it to web filters and report it to the registrar and hosting provider.
