PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

web-trezor--bridge.typedream.app was a phishing page built on a Typedream site-builder subdomain. It posed as Trezor Bridge under the title "Trézor Bridge® | Introducing the New Trézor App" and targeted owners of Trezor hardware wallets. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-10-10. The site has been offline since 2026-10-11, and the hosting provider had blocked its content when we last checked on 2026-10-19.

How the scam works

The page title uses an accented "Trézor" and announces a "new app," which gives Trezor users a reason to believe they must update or reinstall their wallet software. Fake Trezor Bridge and Trezor app pages like this one usually walk the visitor through a phony setup or recovery step. That step asks for the 12- or 24-word recovery seed, or pushes a counterfeit download that captures it. Anyone holding the seed can rebuild the wallet on their own device and empty it, and the hardware wallet gives no protection once the phrase has been typed into a website.

Evidence

On VirusTotal, only 2 of 92 engines flagged the page, LevelBlue and PhishFort, as of 2026-10-10. That low count shows how little coverage a fresh builder-hosted phish gets in its first hours. Spamhaus lists the domain in its DBL as abused for phishing (DBL_ABUSED_PHISH), and it appears on the PhishDestroy blocklist.

Infrastructure

The operator did not register a domain. They used a free subdomain on Typedream with "trezor" and "bridge" placed in the hostname, which is a cheap setup that can be thrown away and rebuilt quickly. Traffic ran through Cloudflare (AS13335) at a US address. The certificate came from Google Trust Services, so visitors saw a normal HTTPS padlock, which tells you nothing about whether the page was genuine.

What to do

If you typed your recovery seed into this page, treat the wallet as compromised. Set up a new wallet with a fresh seed on your Trezor and move any remaining funds to it right away. If you downloaded anything from the page, remove it and scan the computer, then reinstall Trezor software only through the official Trezor website. Trezor never asks for your recovery phrase in a browser or app. Defenders should block this hostname and watch site-builder subdomains for wallet brand names and accented lookalike spellings such as "Trézor."

Recommendations & Advice for Victims

Choose the steps that match what you shared. Keep a copy of this report alongside your own records.

What should I do immediately?

Urgent

Stop using the suspicious site. Open the real service through its official app or an address you already trust.

  • Change all passwords — email, exchange accounts, anything that shares the same password
  • Enable 2FA using an authenticator app (not SMS). Disable SMS-based recovery
  • Freeze cards if you entered banking details on the phishing site

What information should I collect for my report?

FBI guidelines

Keep original emails, receipts, messages and screenshots in a secure place. A factual timeline helps the receiving authority understand what happened. IC3 evidence guidance ↗

  • Payment records — if you paid, save the receipt, amount, date, payment provider and recipient details.
  • Exact dates & times — of each transaction and first contact with scammer
  • Screenshots — scam website, chat messages, emails, wallet transactions, social media
  • All URLs & domains used by the scammer (including web-trezor--bridge.typedream.app)
  • Communications — emails, texts, phone numbers, usernames the scammer used

Even if you don't have all details — file a report anyway. Partial information still helps investigations.

Where should I report the scam?

  • FBI IC3 — Internet Crime Complaint Center (US federal reporting)
  • Europol — European cybercrime reporting (EU)
  • Your bank or payment provider — contact its fraud team promptly through official contact details if money or card information was exposed.
  • Local police — creates an official record, even if they can't act immediately

A report is not a guarantee of recovery or investigation, but prompt, accurate transaction data can help authorities and service providers trace the incident.

How do phishing scams typically work?

  • Fake websites — pixel-perfect clones of legitimate sites with slightly altered domains
  • Pig butchering — trust built over weeks via Telegram/WhatsApp/dating apps, then money stolen
  • Recovery scams — fraudsters pose as recovery agents and demand upfront fees. Never share a seed phrase or pay before independently verifying the provider
  • AI-powered scams — deepfakes, automated phishing, and AI-generated sites making fraud harder to detect

How can I protect myself in the future?

  • Bookmark official sites — never click links from emails, DMs, or ads
  • Verify domains — check on PhishDestroy before interacting. Check HTTPS, spelling, domain age
  • "Too good to be true" = scam — guaranteed returns, celebrity endorsements, urgent deadlines
