PhishDestroy threat report
staging-labs.basemath.co.kr is an impersonation phishing page whose title presents it as Base Labs, a crypto-project identity aimed at wallet users who expect a legitimate developer or ecosystem portal. The staging-labs prefix makes it look like an internal preview or test environment, which can persuade visitors they have found something early or exclusive. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-10-11. As of 2026-10-19 the site is still online and serving its phishing content.
Impersonation pages like this copy the branding of a trusted crypto project so visitors lower their guard. They then steer the visitor toward a high-risk action: connecting a wallet and approving a transaction, signing a message, or typing in a recovery phrase or login details. Any of these hands control to the operators. A malicious approval or signature can let them move tokens out of the wallet, and a seed phrase gives them the entire wallet outright.
The strongest signals come from crypto-specific blocklists. Besides PhishDestroy, both MetaMask and SEAL list the domain, so wallet-focused defenders have independently treated it as a threat. General-purpose detection is thinner: on 2026-10-16, 5 of 92 VirusTotal engines flagged it (alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Gridinsoft and SOCRadar). Most of the security tools people rely on day to day will therefore not warn them about this page.
The parent domain basemath.co.kr was registered through Gabia, Inc. on 2025-07-14. That is about fifteen months before PhishDestroy detected the phishing subdomain, so a long-lived Korean domain is being used to host it. The site sits behind Cloudflare (AS13335) on a US-located address, which hides the origin server from view.
If you connected a wallet to this site, review and revoke any token approvals or permissions it was granted, using a trusted approval-management tool. Move remaining funds to a fresh wallet if you signed anything you did not fully understand. If you entered a recovery phrase, treat that wallet as fully compromised and transfer assets to a new wallet created with a new phrase immediately. If you entered a password, change it wherever you reused it and enable 2FA. Defenders should block staging-labs.basemath.co.kr and watch for other subdomains of basemath.co.kr that use Base branding.
