PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

legoland.co.il is an impersonation phishing site that borrows the Legoland name to appear as an official Israeli outlet for the theme park brand. Its likely targets are parents and visitors searching for tickets, discounts or reservations. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-02, and on 2026-10-19 it was still online and serving a redirect.

How the scam works

Brand-impersonation pages like this use a familiar name and a convincing local domain to make a ticket offer or booking form look trustworthy. Visitors are pushed to enter personal details, account logins or payment card data for tickets that never arrive. The loss is usually money charged to the card plus personal information that can be reused in follow-up fraud. The page currently shows the title "Just a moment...", a generic browser-check screen rather than Legoland-branded content, while we classify the site as Legoland impersonation.

Evidence

Five of 92 engines on VirusTotal flagged the domain as of 2026-10-16: alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Gridinsoft and SOCRadar. That is a small share, but these vendors reached their verdicts independently, and a low count is common for brand-lookalike sites that have not yet been widely reported. The domain also appears in 4 AlienVault OTX threat pulses, so other researchers have linked it to malicious activity. It is listed on the PhishDestroy blocklist.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered through Communigal Communication Ltd, an Israeli registrar for .co.il names. A local-looking address is part of the pitch, because it helps the site pass as a domestic Legoland outlet. Traffic is fronted by Cloudflare, with the serving address geolocated to Canada. That setup hides the real origin server, so takedown requests have to go through the domain registrar and Cloudflare.

What to do

Do not buy tickets or enter details on legoland.co.il. Book only through Legoland's official channels. If you paid there, call your card issuer now to dispute the charge and ask for a replacement card. If you entered a password, change it everywhere you reuse it and turn on two-factor authentication. Expect follow-up phishing that uses the details you gave, and treat calls or emails about refunds with suspicion. Security teams should block the domain at DNS and web proxies and add it to email filtering. Abuse reports should go to Communigal Communication Ltd and to Cloudflare.

Recommendations & Advice for Victims

Choose the steps that match what you shared. Keep a copy of this report alongside your own records.

What should I do immediately?

Urgent

Stop using the suspicious site. Open the real service through its official app or an address you already trust.

  • Change all passwords — email, exchange accounts, anything that shares the same password
  • Enable 2FA using an authenticator app (not SMS). Disable SMS-based recovery
  • Freeze cards if you entered banking details on the phishing site

What information should I collect for my report?

FBI guidelines

Keep original emails, receipts, messages and screenshots in a secure place. A factual timeline helps the receiving authority understand what happened. IC3 evidence guidance ↗

  • Payment records — if you paid, save the receipt, amount, date, payment provider and recipient details.
  • Exact dates & times — of each transaction and first contact with scammer
  • Screenshots — scam website, chat messages, emails, wallet transactions, social media
  • All URLs & domains used by the scammer (including legoland.co.il)
  • Communications — emails, texts, phone numbers, usernames the scammer used

Even if you don't have all details — file a report anyway. Partial information still helps investigations.

Where should I report the scam?

  • FBI IC3 — Internet Crime Complaint Center (US federal reporting)
  • Europol — European cybercrime reporting (EU)
  • Your bank or payment provider — contact its fraud team promptly through official contact details if money or card information was exposed.
  • Local police — creates an official record, even if they can't act immediately

A report is not a guarantee of recovery or investigation, but prompt, accurate transaction data can help authorities and service providers trace the incident.

How do phishing scams typically work?

  • Fake websites — pixel-perfect clones of legitimate sites with slightly altered domains
  • Pig butchering — trust built over weeks via Telegram/WhatsApp/dating apps, then money stolen
  • Recovery scams — fraudsters pose as recovery agents and demand upfront fees. Never share a seed phrase or pay before independently verifying the provider
  • AI-powered scams — deepfakes, automated phishing, and AI-generated sites making fraud harder to detect

How can I protect myself in the future?

  • Bookmark official sites — never click links from emails, DMs, or ads
  • Verify domains — check on PhishDestroy before interacting. Check HTTPS, spelling, domain age
  • "Too good to be true" = scam — guaranteed returns, celebrity endorsements, urgent deadlines
