Overview

ledger-web-live.typedream.app is an impersonation phishing page posing as Ledger's official onboarding site. It targets owners of Ledger hardware wallets who are setting up a device or looking for Ledger Live. PhishDestroy first detected it on 2026-10-16. The site has been offline since 2026-10-17, with its content blocked by the hosting provider, and was still down when last checked on 2026-10-19.

How the scam works

The page title, "Official Site® | Ledger.com/Start®® | Getting started — Ledger", copies the wording of Ledger's real setup page. The stacked trademark symbols are meant to look authoritative to someone who arrived from a search ad or a shared link. Fake Ledger start pages like this usually lead visitors to a bogus "sync" or "recovery" form that asks for the 24-word recovery phrase, or to a counterfeit Ledger Live download. Anyone who types in that phrase gives the attacker full control of the wallet, and the funds can be moved without the physical device.

Evidence

urlscan.io rated the page malicious and recognised Ledger branding on it. Spamhaus lists the domain in its DBL as phishing. On VirusTotal, only alphaMountain.ai of 92 engines flagged it as of 2026-10-16. That low count reflects how quickly the page was caught, not that it is safe. PhishDestroy carries it on its blocklist.

Infrastructure

The page sits on a subdomain of typedream.app, a website-builder platform, so the 2021-01-22 registration date through Squarespace Domains II LLC. belongs to the shared parent domain, not to this scam. Using a free builder subdomain lets an operator put up a convincing page within minutes and drop it once it is reported. Traffic runs through Cloudflare (AS13335) on a US address, with a Google Trust Services certificate. The padlock in the browser therefore said nothing about whether the site was genuine.

What to do

If you entered your recovery phrase on this page, treat the wallet as compromised. Set up a new Ledger with a fresh phrase and move any remaining assets to it immediately. If you installed software from the site, remove it and only reinstall Ledger Live from Ledger's official domain. Ledger never asks for your recovery phrase online. Defenders should block the domain and watch for other typedream.app subdomains that use Ledger branding.
