PhishDestroy threat report
kraken-coins.online is an impersonation phishing page that poses as Kraken, one of the best-known cryptocurrency exchanges. It targets Kraken customers and crypto traders who might mistake the "coins" domain for an official Kraken property. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-08-31. As of 2026-10-19 the site was still online and serving live content.
Kraken impersonation sites copy the exchange's branding so visitors believe they are on a genuine Kraken login, promotion or support page. The victim is then asked for something valuable, typically Kraken credentials and one-time 2FA codes. Some pages instead push a deposit, a "verification" payment or a wallet recovery phrase. With a working login and a fresh 2FA code, attackers can take over the real exchange account and withdraw its balance. A recovery phrase or deposit hands over funds directly, and those transfers cannot be reversed.
Seven of 89 VirusTotal engines flag the domain as malicious as of 2026-09-12: alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet, Gridinsoft, SOCRadar and VIPRE. That is a modest count, but it comes from independent vendors with different detection methods. Spamhaus lists the domain in its DBL under the phishing category. MetaMask and SEAL, both crypto-focused security lists, have blocked it alongside PhishDestroy. Four AlienVault OTX threat pulses also reference it, so other researchers have tracked the same infrastructure.
The domain was registered through GoDaddy.com, LLC on 2026-08-29, just two days before PhishDestroy detected it. That short gap shows it was set up specifically for this campaign rather than taken over from an older site. It resolves to 3.33.130.190 in the United States. Its domain-validated certificate from GoDaddy's TLS CA only proves control of the domain. The padlock in the browser says nothing about whether the site is really Kraken.
If you entered Kraken credentials here, sign in through Kraken's official app or a bookmarked address and change your password immediately. Reset 2FA, review active sessions, API keys and withdrawal addresses, and contact Kraken support. If you sent a deposit or any "verification" or release fee, stop all further payments and record transaction IDs. Report the theft to Kraken and to local authorities. If you typed a wallet recovery phrase, move any remaining assets to a new wallet with a fresh seed at once. Security teams should block the domain at DNS and mail gateways and watch for lookalike Kraken domains registered through the same channels.

An estimated time describes an observation window. It does not prove a registrar action or the exact moment a site became unavailable.
Dated changes retained by the monitor and source collectors. Newest observations appear first; source states are not proof of a takedown.
