PhishDestroy threat report
checkfortniteskin.shop is an impersonation phishing page built to look like an Epic Games service. Its name targets Fortnite players who want to check or claim skins. PhishDestroy first detected it on 2026-09-18. On 2026-10-19 the host was still up, but the domain's DNS was inactive and the page was no longer being served.
Fake skin checkers promise to reveal rare cosmetics on a player's account or hand out free ones. The catch is that you must sign in with your Epic Games credentials first. Whatever you type goes to the operators, who can take over the account, its purchased items and any linked payment methods, then resell it or use it to scam the victim's friends. When captured, the page showed only the title "Loading" rather than Epic Games branding, while our classification is Epic Games impersonation phishing.
urlscan.io rated the site malicious and matched it to the Epic Games brand. On VirusTotal, 10 of 91 engines flagged it on 2026-09-29, including alphaMountain.ai, BitDefender, CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet, Gridinsoft, Kaspersky and LevelBlue. That is a modest share of engines, but it comes from several separate vendors. Spamhaus lists the domain in its DBL as spam, and it appears in four AlienVault OTX threat pulses, so other researchers have tracked it as well.
The domain was registered on 2026-08-20 through GNAME.COM PTE. LTD., 29 days before PhishDestroy caught it. That short gap fits a throwaway domain set up for one campaign. The site was hosted at 109.238.86.76 on the UFO Technologies Limited network in Great Britain. It used a free Let's Encrypt certificate, so the padlock in the browser said nothing about whether the site was legitimate.
If you signed in on this page, change your Epic Games password immediately and use a new password that you don't use anywhere else. Change it too on any site where you reused the old one. Turn on two-factor authentication in your Epic account and sign out of all other sessions. Then review your purchase history, linked payment cards and connected console or platform accounts for changes you didn't make, and report anything suspicious to Epic Games support. Defenders should block the domain and its hosting IP and warn younger players that legitimate skin checks never require a login on a third-party site.

An estimated time describes an observation window. It does not prove a registrar action or the exact moment a site became unavailable.
Dated changes retained by the monitor and source collectors. Newest observations appear first; source states are not proof of a takedown.

This report combines saved page captures, registration and network records, scanner results and PhishDestroy reporting history. Each source keeps its own observation date. Open a source report to inspect the original result.
The AI-assisted analysis was written on . It describes the evidence available at that time; later source checks can change.
A capture documents what was shown. A scanner result records that provider’s assessment at the time of its check. Neither a valid certificate nor a zero-detection result is a guarantee of safety.
