PhishDestroy threat report
bitrex.digital is an impersonation phishing page that presents itself as BITREX, with the homepage titled "Home — BITREX". It targets cryptocurrency users who search for or are sent to what looks like a legitimate trading brand. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-05. As of 2026-10-19 the site was still online and serving its content.
Impersonation sites like this copy the name and look of a trading service so visitors trust it with sign-in details and money. A typical BITREX-branded page asks you to register or log in and then encourages a deposit. Any credentials you type go straight to the operators, who can reuse them on the real service or on other accounts that share the same password. Any crypto you send to the page's deposit addresses goes to the scammers and cannot be recovered.
Five of 92 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain as of 2026-10-19: alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Gridinsoft and SOCRadar. That is a small share, so many browsers and security tools may still let the page load without a warning. The domain appears in four AlienVault OTX threat pulses, which shows other researchers have tracked it independently. PhishDestroy is the only blocklist in our coverage that lists it.
The domain was registered on 2026-05-17 through Fewmoretaps OU, which trades as Trustname.com. It went about 111 days before PhishDestroy detected it, a long quiet period that gave the page time to collect visitors before anyone flagged it. It is hosted in Germany on the Datacamp Limited network.
Do not log in to or deposit on bitrex.digital. If you entered a password there, change it at once on every account that uses it and turn on app-based two-factor authentication. Contact the genuine platform you thought you were using so it can secure your account. If you sent funds, record the transaction IDs and the deposit addresses and report them to your exchange and to the police; ignore anyone who offers to recover the money for a fee. Defenders should block the domain at DNS and the web proxy and add the five vendor detections to their phishing watchlists.
