PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

bisonmaletas.shop is a fraudulent storefront that presents itself as "BISON MOTO | MALETAS BISON," a Spanish-language store for Bison motorcycle cases and luggage. It targets riders shopping online for panniers, top cases and similar gear, a niche where buyers often hunt for discounts on branded equipment. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-10-16. The site was still online and serving its shop content when last checked on 2026-10-19.

How the scam works

Fake shops like this copy the look of a legitimate brand store, list popular products at tempting prices, and run a working checkout. The victim pays by card or another method and receives nothing, a cheap substitute, or a tracking number that leads nowhere. Every payment also hands over the buyer's name, address, phone, email and card details. Those details can be reused for further charges or follow-up scams.

Evidence

urlscan.io rated the site malicious and specifically marked it as a fake shop, which matches our classification. VirusTotal tells a different story: none of its 92 engines flagged the domain on 2026-10-16. That clean result reflects how new the site is, not how safe it is. The domain appears in four AlienVault OTX threat pulses, and PhishDestroy is so far the only blocklist listing it.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered through Dynadot Inc. on 2026-06-12, about four months before it came to our attention. Its hosting is with Malakmadze Web LLC in Georgia, far from the Spanish-speaking customers the shop courts. It uses a free Let's Encrypt certificate, so the browser padlock only means the connection is encrypted. It says nothing about whether the seller is genuine.

What to do

If you ordered from this site, contact your bank or card issuer right away. Report the transaction as fraud, request a chargeback, and ask for a replacement card if you entered card details. Keep your order confirmation, emails and any messages from the seller as evidence. Do not send extra money for "customs," "shipping fees" or a promised refund. Be wary of later calls or emails that cite your order, since your contact details are now in the scammers' hands. Security teams and retailers should block the domain, add it to web and email filters, and report it to the registrar and hosting provider for takedown.

Recommendations & Advice for Victims

Choose the steps that match what you shared. Keep a copy of this report alongside your own records.

What should I do immediately?

Urgent

Stop using the suspicious site. Open the real service through its official app or an address you already trust.

  • Change all passwords — email, exchange accounts, anything that shares the same password
  • Enable 2FA using an authenticator app (not SMS). Disable SMS-based recovery
  • Freeze cards if you entered banking details on the phishing site

What information should I collect for my report?

FBI guidelines

Keep original emails, receipts, messages and screenshots in a secure place. A factual timeline helps the receiving authority understand what happened. IC3 evidence guidance ↗

  • Payment records — if you paid, save the receipt, amount, date, payment provider and recipient details.
  • Exact dates & times — of each transaction and first contact with scammer
  • Screenshots — scam website, chat messages, emails, wallet transactions, social media
  • All URLs & domains used by the scammer (including bisonmaletas.shop)
  • Communications — emails, texts, phone numbers, usernames the scammer used

Even if you don't have all details — file a report anyway. Partial information still helps investigations.

Where should I report the scam?

  • FBI IC3 — Internet Crime Complaint Center (US federal reporting)
  • Europol — European cybercrime reporting (EU)
  • Your bank or payment provider — contact its fraud team promptly through official contact details if money or card information was exposed.
  • Local police — creates an official record, even if they can't act immediately

A report is not a guarantee of recovery or investigation, but prompt, accurate transaction data can help authorities and service providers trace the incident.

How do phishing scams typically work?

  • Fake websites — pixel-perfect clones of legitimate sites with slightly altered domains
  • Pig butchering — trust built over weeks via Telegram/WhatsApp/dating apps, then money stolen
  • Recovery scams — fraudsters pose as recovery agents and demand upfront fees. Never share a seed phrase or pay before independently verifying the provider
  • AI-powered scams — deepfakes, automated phishing, and AI-generated sites making fraud harder to detect

How can I protect myself in the future?

  • Bookmark official sites — never click links from emails, DMs, or ads
  • Verify domains — check on PhishDestroy before interacting. Check HTTPS, spelling, domain age
  • "Too good to be true" = scam — guaranteed returns, celebrity endorsements, urgent deadlines

About this reportSources, observation dates and corrections

This report combines saved page captures, registration and network records, scanner results and PhishDestroy reporting history. Each source keeps its own observation date. Open a source report to inspect the original result.

The AI-assisted analysis was written on . It describes the evidence available at that time; later source checks can change.

A capture documents what was shown. A scanner result records that provider’s assessment at the time of its check. Neither a valid certificate nor a zero-detection result is a guarantee of safety.
