Overview

mgmwins.pw is an impersonation phishing page that presents itself as "MGM Wins" and borrows the MGM brand to look like a legitimate gaming or rewards platform. It targets people drawn in by promises of winnings, bonuses or payouts, especially those willing to fund an account with cryptocurrency. PhishDestroy first saw the domain on 2026-10-16, five days after it was registered. As of 2026-10-19 the site was still online and serving live content.

How the scam works

Sites like this copy the look and name of a well-known brand to borrow its credibility. Victims are typically shown a balance, a bonus or a "win" and are pushed to register, hand over personal or login details, or make a deposit, often in crypto, to unlock or withdraw it. The promised payout never arrives, and new fees or deposits are demanded at each step. Victims lose whatever they send, and any credentials or personal information they enter can be reused for further fraud. urlscan.io tagged the page as a crypto scam, which fits this pattern.

Evidence

urlscan.io returned a malicious verdict and flagged the page as a crypto scam. Spamhaus lists the domain on its DBL as spam, and it appears in 4 AlienVault OTX threat pulses. On VirusTotal, detection is still low: 2 of 92 engines, Ermes and Fortinet, flagged it when checked on 2026-10-16. A low VirusTotal score is common for freshly registered scam domains and should not be read as a sign that the site is safe. PhishDestroy lists the domain on its blocklist.

The domain was registered on 2026-10-11 through NICENIC INTERNATIONAL GROUP CO., LIMITED under the .pw top-level domain. It resolves to 172.67.196.102 on Cloudflare, Inc. infrastructure, geolocated to Canada, which places the site behind Cloudflare's network rather than exposing the origin server.
