Overview

globaltrustbroker.com is an impersonation phishing site whose name presents it as a global, trustworthy brokerage, aimed at people looking to trade or invest crypto. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-13. As of 2026-10-19 the site was still alive, with its content reachable behind a protection layer. The page currently shows the title "Bot Verification" rather than any broker branding, while our classification is impersonation phishing.

How the scam works

Sites like this borrow the look and language of a legitimate broker to win trust, then steer visitors into registering, logging in or funding an account. A "Bot Verification" screen is a common first step that makes the site feel routine and security-conscious before the real pages load. Victims typically lose whatever they hand over: login credentials, personal identity details, and any money or crypto deposited into a balance that can never actually be withdrawn.

Evidence

Fourteen of 89 VirusTotal engines flag the domain, including BitDefender, ESET, Fortinet, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, G-Data, Gridinsoft, alphaMountain.ai and the Vietnamese anti-scam group Chong Lua Dao, as of 2026-09-21. Agreement across that many independent vendors is a strong signal for a single domain. urlscan.io returned a malicious verdict and matched it to generic scam patterns rather than one named brand. The domain also appears in four AlienVault OTX threat pulses and on the PhishDestroy blocklist.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2025-09-06 through TuringSign Inc. d/b/a Cosmotown, roughly a year before PhishDestroy detected it. That gap suggests a name registered in advance and kept for later use, not one spun up on the day of the campaign. It resolves to 23.153.104.17 on the Aquiryn LLC network in the United States. A free Let's Encrypt certificate supplies the padlock, so HTTPS alone says nothing about whether the site is legitimate.

What to do

If you deposited funds here, stop sending money, especially if asked for "fees", "taxes" or "verification payments" to release a balance, and report the transfers to your bank, card issuer or the exchange you sent from. If you created an account or logged in, change that password everywhere you reused it and turn on app-based 2FA. Watch for follow-up contact from fake "recovery" services, which often target victims of the same scheme. Defenders should block the domain and its IP address, check proxy and DNS logs for visits since 2026-09-13, and add it to email and web filtering.
