PhishDestroy threat report
dragoonboom.com presents itself as "DRAGOON BOOM", a bilingual Russian and English marketplace for selling CS2 skins. PhishDestroy classifies it as an impersonation phishing page built around the Counter-Strike 2 skin economy, and it targets players who want to cash out their inventories. We first detected it on 2026-10-13. As of 2026-10-19 the site was still online and serving its content.
Fake skin-selling sites lure players with quick, generous payouts for their CS2 items. To get a quote or start a sale, the victim is asked to sign in through Steam, often in a counterfeit login window that captures the username, password and Steam Guard code. With those, operators can take over the account, accept or redirect trades, and empty the inventory. The skins are usually gone before the victim notices, and stolen items are rarely recoverable.
On 2026-10-17, 12 of 92 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain. The vendors flagging it include alphaMountain.ai, BitDefender, CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet, G-Data, Gridinsoft and Kaspersky, so the verdict comes from several unrelated security vendors. Spamhaus lists the domain in its DBL as spam. It also appears in 3 AlienVault OTX threat pulses and on the PhishDestroy blocklist.
The domain was registered on 2026-10-09 through NICENIC INTERNATIONAL GROUP CO., LIMITED, just four days before we detected it. That short gap is typical of throwaway domains set up for a single campaign. The site runs on 74.50.66.166 in Interserver, Inc's network in the United States. Its Let's Encrypt certificate is free and issued automatically, so the browser padlock says nothing about whether the site is legitimate.
If you signed in to Steam on this site, change your Steam password at once from the official client. Then use "Deauthorize all other devices", confirm Steam Guard is still bound to your own phone, and revoke any Steam Web API key you did not create. Check your trade history and pending offers for transfers you did not make, and report the account compromise to Steam Support. If you reused that password anywhere else, change it there too. Defenders should block the domain and its hosting IP and watch for look-alike CS2 trading domains registered recently.
