PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

wbeuvipfx9.com is an impersonation phishing page that presents itself as Baidu, China's dominant search engine. Its page title, 百度一下 ("Baidu it"), is the same one shown on Baidu's real homepage, so the site targets Chinese-speaking users who expect to land on a familiar, trusted service. PhishDestroy first detected the domain on 2026-10-16. As of 2026-10-19 the site was still online and serving live content.

How the scam works

Impersonation pages like this copy the name and look of a well-known brand so visitors lower their guard. Once a user trusts the fake Baidu page, schemes of this kind typically ask for a Baidu or other account login, offer a fake download or update, or redirect to further scams. Anything typed or installed there goes to the operators, not to Baidu. Victims can lose account access and personal data, and can end up with malware on their devices.

Evidence

On 2026-10-19, 13 of 92 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain. The flagging vendors include alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, CyRadar, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, G-Data, Google Safe Browsing, Gridinsoft and Kaspersky. Google Safe Browsing separately classifies the site as SOCIAL_ENGINEERING, its category for deceptive pages that trick users into harmful actions. The domain is also on the PhishDestroy blocklist.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2026-08-29 through Dynadot Inc, about seven weeks before PhishDestroy detected it. It resolves to 146.19.248.197 on the SpectraIP B.V. network in the Netherlands. The site uses a TLS certificate from Let's Encrypt (YR1), so the browser padlock only means the connection is encrypted. It does not show that the site is genuine.

What to do

Leave the site and reach Baidu only by typing its address yourself or using a saved bookmark. If you entered a password on wbeuvipfx9.com, change it right away on the real service and on every other account where you reused it, then turn on two-factor authentication. If you downloaded anything from the page, do not open it. Delete it and run a full antivirus scan. Security teams should block the domain and the 146.19.248.197 address at DNS, proxy and email gateways, search logs for past visits, and report the page to Baidu and to the hosting provider's abuse contact.
