How the scam works
Impersonation pages borrow the look, name or tone of something the victim already trusts, so the request for a login, card number or wallet connection feels routine. Anything entered goes straight to the operators. They can reuse stolen passwords on other services, charge payment cards, or empty a crypto wallet if a recovery phrase is handed over. A friendly, low-key title like "TotalYarn :)" lowers suspicion, because nothing about it signals danger until the data is already gone.
Evidence
Fifteen of 91 VirusTotal engines marked the domain as malicious as of 2026-10-02. Those engines include BitDefender, ESET, Fortinet, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, G-Data, Gridinsoft, alphaMountain.ai and CyRadar. When that many unrelated vendors agree, a false positive is unlikely, but most engines still let the site through, so many browsers and filters will not warn users. The domain also appears in five AlienVault OTX threat pulses, which means other researchers have tracked it independently. It is listed on the PhishDestroy blocklist.
Infrastructure
The domain was registered through Namecheap on 2019-10-29, almost seven years before PhishDestroy detected it. Because of that age, "old domain, probably safe" heuristics give no protection here. The site resolves to an address on AT&T Enterprises in the United States, not a typical bulk hosting provider. It uses a free Let's Encrypt certificate, so the browser padlock only confirms an encrypted connection and says nothing about who runs the page.
What to do
If you entered a password on totalyarn.com, change it right away, along with any other account that shares it, and turn on app-based two-factor authentication. If you submitted card or bank details, call your bank to block the card and dispute unfamiliar charges. If you typed a wallet recovery phrase, treat that wallet as lost and move your funds to a newly created wallet immediately. Defenders should block the domain and its hosting address at DNS and proxy level and search logs for users who visited after 2026-09-23.
