PhishDestroy threat report
startd-ledgr-com.pages.dev is a phishing page that poses as Ledger's official onboarding portal. It targets people setting up or restoring a Ledger hardware wallet. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-15. As of 2026-10-19 the site was still online and serving its phishing content.
The page is titled "Ledger.com/start – Secure Your Ledger® Wallet", which copies the address Ledger prints in its device packaging. The misspelled hostname "startd-ledgr" is built to pass a quick glance from someone searching for setup instructions. Pages like this usually walk the visitor through a convincing "setup" or "security check" that ends with a request for the 24-word recovery phrase, or with a download of fake companion software that captures it. Whoever holds that phrase controls the wallet. Once it is typed in, the attacker can rebuild the wallet on their own device and empty every account, and the hardware wallet offers no protection after that. Ledger never asks for a recovery phrase on a website.
15 of 91 VirusTotal engines classified the page as malicious as of 2026-09-29. The flagging vendors include BitDefender, ESET, Fortinet, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Emsisoft, G-Data, CyRadar and alphaMountain.ai. urlscan.io returned a malicious verdict and identified Ledger as the imitated brand. The domain also appears on the MetaMask, SEAL and PhishFeed blocklists alongside PhishDestroy's own, so several independent crypto-focused sources reached the same conclusion.
The site runs on a free Cloudflare Pages project created on 2026-08-27, 19 days before PhishDestroy detected it. That pattern lets an operator stand up a disposable page quickly under a reputable-looking subdomain. It resolves to Cloudflare network space geolocated to Canada and uses a standard Google Trust Services certificate. The padlock in the browser therefore confirms only an encrypted connection, not that the page belongs to Ledger.
If you typed your recovery phrase into this page, treat the wallet as compromised. Set up a fresh wallet with a new phrase generated on your genuine device, then move any remaining funds there immediately. If you installed software from the site, remove it and scan the machine before touching any wallet again. If you connected a wallet, also review and revoke token approvals. Security teams should block the hostname, watch for look-alike pages.dev subdomains imitating Ledger, and report the project to Cloudflare for takedown.
