PhishDestroy’s intake AI classified the domain as malicious because it mimics the OpenSea brand while the page displayed unrelated technology and renewable‑energy news. The recorded page excerpt contained a generic article about renewable‑energy innovations, which does not correspond to OpenSea’s services. The domain was first seen by PhishDestroy on 2026-10-23 and returned HTTP 200 at that time.

How the scam works

Brand‑impersonation sites copy the name or visual cues of a legitimate service to lure users into entering login credentials, wallet addresses, or approving crypto transactions. Victims who trust the fake OpenSea branding may inadvertently disclose sensitive information or grant unauthorized permissions.

Evidence
