Overview

laboratoriocusmai.it is an Italian-language site that PhishDestroy classifies as an impersonation phishing page. It presents itself as the homepage of a local business, the Laboratorio Cusmai, and is aimed at Italian-speaking visitors who expect a legitimate company website. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-21. As of 2026-10-19 the site was still online and its content now redirects visitors elsewhere.

How the scam works

The page title reads "Benvenuti al Laboratorio Cusmai: Home", a plain welcome page rather than an obvious login form. That title points to an ordinary business site, while our classification marks the domain as impersonation phishing. Pages of this type borrow the look and name of a trusted organisation so that visitors relax, then send them to a form or a further page that asks for passwords, contact details or payment information. Because the domain now redirects, the harmful step may sit on whatever destination the visitor lands on. What the victim loses is whatever they type there: account logins, personal data or card details.

Evidence

Independent detection is thin but not absent. On 2026-10-02, 3 of 91 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain: CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker and Gridinsoft. Most engines have not yet caught up, so a clean result from a single scanner should not be read as a clean bill of health. Six AlienVault OTX threat pulses reference the domain, which shows other researchers have tied it to malicious activity. PhishDestroy is the only blocklist currently listing it.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2014-09-25 through Aruba Business s.r.l., roughly twelve years before PhishDestroy detected it. That long history is typical of an established business site, not a throwaway domain set up for a single campaign. It is hosted in Italy on Aruba S.p.A.'s network at 62.149.172.216, the same provider family as the registrar.

If you submitted card or banking details, contact your bank to block the card and watch statements for unfamiliar charges.
