PhishDestroy threat report
komainuclientcustody.com presents itself as "Komainu Client Custody" and borrows the name of Komainu, a digital-asset custodian that serves institutional clients. The domain does not belong to the real company. It is built to look like a client-facing custody portal and aims at funds, family offices and other holders who would expect to log in to such a service. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-30. Its live status could not be confirmed as of 2026-10-19.
Fake custody portals copy the look of a trusted custodian so that a client lands on a convincing "client custody" sign-in or onboarding screen. Victims are pushed to enter account credentials, two-factor codes or identity documents. In some versions they are also told to move assets to deposit addresses that supposedly belong to the custodian. Whatever is typed or sent goes to the operators. Losses can include custody account access, sensitive corporate KYC material and any crypto transferred under the pretext of safekeeping.
Detection is still thin. On 2026-09-30, 2 of 91 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain, alphaMountain.ai and CRDF, so most scanners will not warn a visitor yet. The stronger signal comes from crypto-specific defenses. Besides PhishDestroy, MetaMask's phishing list and the SEAL blocklist both carry the domain. One AlienVault OTX threat pulse also references it.
The domain was registered through NameCheap, Inc. on 2026-09-21 and was flagged nine days later. That short gap is typical of a lookalike name set up for a specific campaign. The site sits behind Cloudflare, Inc., with the address geolocating to Canada. This reflects the proxy network and says nothing about where the operators or the origin server are located.
If you entered a username, password or 2FA code here, change the password on the genuine Komainu account at once. Reset two-factor authentication, end active sessions, and alert your Komainu relationship contact so they can watch for unauthorized activity. If you uploaded identity or company documents, treat them as exposed and warn your compliance team. If you sent assets to an address shown on this site, record the transaction hashes and report them to the custodian and law enforcement. Do not pay any "release" or "verification" fee that follows. Defenders should block the domain at DNS and the mail gateway. They should also hunt in mail and proxy logs for clicks since 2026-09-21 and warn staff who handle custody operations about lookalike Komainu domains.

This report combines saved page captures, registration and network records, scanner results and PhishDestroy reporting history. Each source keeps its own observation date. Open a source report to inspect the original result.

A capture documents what was shown. A scanner result records that provider’s assessment at the time of its check. Neither a valid certificate nor a zero-detection result is a guarantee of safety.
