PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

geometryapk.com poses as a download portal for Geometry Dash. It advertises "Geometry Dash Download v2.2 – Unlock All Levels & No Ads (Free 2026)" to lure players who want the paid game or a modded build for free. PhishDestroy classifies it as impersonation phishing and first flagged it on 2026-09-19. A check on 2026-10-19 found the domain still alive, but its content was no longer resolving.

How the scam works

The bait is a cracked version of a well-known mobile game: every level unlocked, no ads, no cost. Sites built on this pitch borrow the game's name and branding so that an unofficial APK looks legitimate. Victims are then pushed to sideload a file from outside the official app stores, or are routed through "verification" steps that collect personal details or account logins. The person ends up installing software of unknown origin and may hand over credentials, while the free game never arrives.

Evidence

Six of 91 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain as of 2026-09-27: alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Gridinsoft, SOCRadar and VIPRE. That is a minority of engines, but it includes independent reputation feeds, URL filters and anti-malware vendors that reached the same conclusion. Besides PhishDestroy, the domain appears on the MetaMask and SEAL blocklists, which wallet users and crypto security tools rely on. Three AlienVault OTX threat pulses also reference it, so other analysts have tracked it as well.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered through NameCheap, Inc. on 2026-06-06, about 105 days before PhishDestroy caught it. That gave it more than three months to build search visibility for game-download keywords. It is hosted on Hostinger International Limited servers in Lithuania, on shared commercial hosting that is cheap to set up and easy to abandon.

What to do

If you downloaded an APK from this site, uninstall it and run a mobile security scan. Then review which apps have accessibility, SMS or device-admin permissions. Change the password and turn on two-factor authentication for any account you entered on the site or signed into from that device afterwards. Get Geometry Dash only from official app stores, and treat any "all levels unlocked" download as a red flag. Defenders should block the domain at DNS and proxy level and add it to filters for game-themed lures, since the site was still alive at the last check.
