fortnitechecker.org is an impersonation phishing site built around the Fortnite brand. It targets players who want to check an account, claim rewards or verify an item. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-19. The site went offline on 2026-09-21, and its DNS was still inactive when we checked again on 2026-10-19.
How the scam works
Sites with names like this usually promise a quick Fortnite account check, a skin or V-Bucks giveaway, or a stats lookup. The victim is then asked to sign in, often through a form that imitates the Epic Games login. Whatever is typed in goes to the operators, who can take over the account, strip its items and change the recovery email. The page title was simply "Loading", a placeholder that shows no brand of its own, while our classification rests on the impersonation the domain is built around.
Evidence
VirusTotal scanned the domain on 2026-09-21, and 6 of 89 engines marked it as malicious: alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet, Gridinsoft and SOCRadar. That count is modest, but the six are unrelated vendors reaching the same verdict independently. Spamhaus lists the domain in its DBL as spam, and it appears in 4 AlienVault OTX threat pulses. PhishDestroy carries it on its blocklist.
Infrastructure
The domain was registered through Spaceship, Inc. on 2026-08-27, only 23 days before we detected it. It went dark two days after detection. That short lifespan is typical of disposable phishing domains that are launched, used briefly and abandoned. The site was hosted on the UFO Technologies Limited network in Great Britain.
What to do
If you entered a Fortnite or Epic Games login on this site, change that password right away. Use the same new password nowhere else, and change it on any other service where you reused the old one. Turn on two-factor authentication for your Epic account and review its linked email, connected platforms and recent purchases for changes you did not make. Contact Epic Games support if you have already lost access. Defenders should block the domain at DNS and proxy level and watch for lookalike Fortnite checker or giveaway domains from the same registrar and hosting range.
