PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

estancialatradicion.com.ar is an Argentine domain that PhishDestroy classifies as an impersonation phishing page built to pass itself off as a trusted service and harvest what visitors type into it. We first flagged it on 2026-09-07. As of 2026-10-19 the site was still alive and its content resolved through a redirect, so the domain remains a live risk for anyone who reaches it through a link.

How the scam works

Impersonation pages copy the look of a legitimate login, payment or account screen. They rely on links sent through email, messaging apps or ads. A victim who enters a username, password, card number or personal details hands them straight to the operator, who can then take over accounts or commit fraud. The redirect behaviour fits this pattern, because visitors can be routed onward to wherever the lure currently lives. The page title, in Spanish, reads that the site is unavailable at the moment and asks the visitor to try again later, which differs from the impersonation content we classified.

Evidence

Eighteen of 89 engines on VirusTotal flagged the domain as of 2026-09-15. The vendors include BitDefender, ESET, Fortinet, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, CyRadar and Chong Lua Dao, a spread of independent commercial and community sources. Google Safe Browsing lists it under SOCIAL_ENGINEERING, which is the category browsers use to warn users about deceptive pages. The domain also appears in five AlienVault OTX threat pulses, which shows other researchers have tracked it as well.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2008-04-14, roughly eighteen years before it turned up on our blocklist. This is not a throwaway domain bought for a quick campaign. A long-registered name tends to carry more trust with filters and visitors than a fresh one. The site is hosted in Argentina at 149.50.142.221 on the Dattatec.com network, and that local hosting matches the .com.ar name.

What to do

If you entered a password on this site, change it immediately along with any account that reuses it, and turn on two-factor authentication. If you submitted card or banking details, contact your bank to block the card and dispute unfamiliar charges. Treat any follow-up messages that reference your visit as further phishing. Defenders should block the domain and its IP at the proxy and DNS layer, search mail and chat logs for links to it, and reset credentials for any users who clicked through.

How do phishing scams typically work?
