PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

enctype-sync.pages.dev was an impersonation phishing page titled "Blockchain Node - Multiverse support". It posed as an official support portal for blockchain and wallet users and targeted people looking for help with their crypto. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-15. The site has been offline since 2026-09-23 after the hosting provider blocked its content, and it was still down when last checked on 2026-10-19.

How the scam works

Fake "node support" pages like this one rely on official-sounding technical language to create urgency. Victims are told their wallet needs to be synced, validated or repaired, and the subdomain name "enctype-sync" fits that pitch. The page then asks the visitor to type in a recovery phrase or private key, or to connect a wallet and approve a request. Anyone who complies hands over control of their funds, and the attackers can empty the wallet. Real blockchain projects never ask for a seed phrase through a support page.

Evidence

On 2026-09-22, 4 of 89 VirusTotal engines flagged the site: Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, G-Data, LevelBlue and Sophos. That is a low count, so most security tools would not have warned a visitor during its short life. Apart from those vendors, the classification rests on PhishDestroy's own listing. The takedown by the hosting provider on 2026-09-23 independently confirms that the content was unacceptable.

Infrastructure

The page was deployed on 2026-09-13 as a free Cloudflare Pages project. That was two days before PhishDestroy detected it and ten days before it went dark. It resolved to Cloudflare, Inc. address space geolocated to Canada. Its Google Trust Services certificate was issued automatically by the platform, so the padlock said nothing about who ran the site. A throwaway subdomain on a reputable platform let the operators look legitimate and launch quickly, and losing it cost them nothing.

What to do

If you entered a recovery phrase or private key on this page, treat that wallet as compromised. Create a new wallet with a fresh seed phrase and move any remaining assets to it immediately. If you connected a wallet and signed transactions, review and revoke token approvals granted around that time. Do not respond to follow-up messages offering "recovery" help, because these are a common second-stage scam. Defenders should block the domain and watch for lookalike pages.dev subdomains that use "node support" or wallet-sync themes.
