PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

csfloat.me borrows the CSFloat name to look like a Counter-Strike 2 skin service. Its page title reads "CSFloat Site｜CS2 Float Checker, Skins Market & Trading Guide", pitched at players who buy, sell and price-check CS2 skins. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-05. As of 2026-10-19 the site was still online and serving content.

How the scam works

Skin-market impersonators rely on trust in a familiar trading tool. Once the visitor believes they are on the real service, the page can push a fake sign-in, request trading access or account keys, or ask the visitor to connect a wallet to buy or sell items. Whatever the visitor hands over lets the operators take over accounts, hijack trades and empty skin inventories. If the visitor connected a crypto wallet, the operators can also try to obtain approvals or signatures that move funds. The page title, which promises a float checker, market and trading guide, is the hook that brings in traders looking for a legitimate tool.

Evidence

On 2026-09-13, 13 of 89 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain. Among them were alphaMountain.ai, BitDefender, Chong Lua Dao, CRDF, CyRadar, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet and G-Data. MetaMask and SEAL list the domain on their blocklists alongside PhishDestroy, which means wallet software that uses those feeds may warn users before the page loads. Four AlienVault OTX pulses also reference it, so other researchers have tracked it on their own.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2026-05-03 through Fewmoretaps OU d/b/a Trustname.com, about four months before PhishDestroy detected it. That gap suggests the name was held in reserve or ran quietly before it drew attention. The site sits behind Cloudflare, Inc. on an address geolocated to Canada, so the origin server is hidden. The site also has a Let's Encrypt certificate, so the browser padlock is no sign that the page is legitimate.

What to do

If you signed in on csfloat.me, change your Steam password right away. Turn on Steam Guard and revoke any Steam Web API key you did not create yourself, because a stolen key can be used to intercept or redirect trade offers. Check your pending and recent trades for anything you did not start. If you connected a wallet, revoke the token approvals the site obtained and move your assets to a fresh wallet if you signed anything you did not understand. Defenders should block the domain, add it to secure web gateway and email filters, and warn gaming and trading communities about this name.
