crypto-7vg.netlify.app is an impersonation phishing page that ran on a free Netlify subdomain and posed as a legitimate crypto service to deceive wallet holders. PhishDestroy first detected it on 2026-09-08. It went offline on 2026-09-11, only three days later, and when checked again on 2026-10-19 the site was dead and served no content at its root.
How the scam works
Impersonation pages copy the look of a trusted crypto brand so that visitors believe they are on the real site. The page then asks for something only the real service should ever see: a wallet connection, a transaction signature, a login, or the wallet's recovery phrase. Anything entered goes straight to the operator, and a seed phrase or signed approval lets them move the victim's funds without further contact. The generic "crypto" name on a disposable hosting subdomain fits this pattern, because such pages are cheap to spin up, share in links, and abandon.
Evidence
Wallet-security lists back the classification. MetaMask's phishing blocklist and SEAL both list the domain alongside PhishDestroy. VirusTotal coverage is thin: on 2026-09-16, only 2 of 89 engines flagged it, alphaMountain.ai and Forcepoint ThreatSeeker. By that point the page had already been offline for five days, so most general-purpose scanners never assessed it while it was live.
Infrastructure
The site was a subdomain on Netlify's static hosting, so there was no separate domain registration. The operator only needed a free account. It resolved to Amazon network infrastructure in Germany, which is shared cloud hosting used by Netlify. Its DigiCert TLS certificate is Netlify's platform certificate. The browser padlock therefore only showed that the connection was encrypted, not that the page was genuine.
What to do
If you connected a wallet to this page, review and revoke any token approvals or permissions granted around 2026-09-08 to 2026-09-11. If you typed in a recovery phrase, treat that wallet as compromised. Create a new wallet and move your remaining assets to it immediately. If you entered a password for any crypto account, change it and turn on app-based 2FA. Security teams should block the hostname and watch for similar generic "crypto" subdomains on free hosting platforms, which appear and vanish within days.
