PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

changelly-en.org is a fraudulent site impersonating Changelly, the legitimate cryptocurrency exchange, designed to lure crypto users into connecting their wallets. PhishDestroy first identified it on 2026-08-30. The site is now dead and DNS-inactive, confirmed offline since 2026-09-09 and last checked on 2026-10-17, meaning it is no longer actively serving content.

How the scam works

The site deployed Angel Drainer, a well-documented malicious kit that presents victims with a convincing Changelly-branded interface and prompts them to connect a Web3 wallet, typically to perform an exchange or claim tokens. Once connected, Angel Drainer silently requests broad token approvals or signs malicious transactions in the background, transferring the victim's entire token holdings and NFTs to attacker-controlled addresses in seconds. The victim loses assets instantly with no recourse, as blockchain transactions are irreversible.

Evidence

Seven of 89 engines on VirusTotal flagged this domain as malicious as of 2026-09-10, with detections from alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet, Gridinsoft, SOCRadar, and VIPRE.
