bestchange-com.com is an impersonation phishing page built to pass as Bestchange, the well-known directory that compares rates across crypto and e-money exchangers. Its title, "Buy crypto and e-money in vetted exchangers", copies the core promise of the real service, so it targets people about to swap funds who trust a listing to steer them to a reliable exchanger. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-10-07. The site has been offline since 2026-10-08, and on 2026-10-19 its content was still blocked by the provider.
How the scam works
Lookalike Bestchange pages use the brand's reputation as a trusted intermediary. A victim lands on what appears to be the familiar rate table, picks an exchanger that looks well rated, and is sent to an operator-controlled exchange or payment form instead of a genuine listed service. The money or crypto sent for the swap goes to the scammers and the promised exchange never arrives. Some variants also collect account logins or contact details for later fraud.
Evidence
urlscan.io rated the page malicious and matched it to the Bestchange brand, which independently confirms the impersonation. VirusTotal tells a different story: on 2026-10-08, none of 92 engines flagged the domain, so a clean antivirus result offered no protection during the site's short life. Four AlienVault OTX threat pulses reference the domain, and PhishDestroy lists it on its blocklist.
Infrastructure
The domain was registered through Dominet (HK) Limited on 2026-10-02, five days before PhishDestroy caught it. That short gap is typical of disposable phishing domains that are set up quickly and used before reputation systems react. The site sat behind Cloudflare (AS13335, US), so the visible address belongs to Cloudflare's network and not to the actual origin server. Its Let's Encrypt certificate gave it a browser padlock, which shows only that the connection was encrypted and says nothing about whether the site is legitimate.
What to do
If you sent funds for an exchange through this site, keep the transaction IDs and payment receipts and report them right away to your bank, card issuer or the platform you paid from.
