PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

b17.info presents itself as the "B17 Sovereign Index" and announces that "The Global Wealth Fund Is Live." PhishDestroy classifies it as an impersonation phishing page aimed at crypto users and investors who might trust a sovereign-sounding fund. We first flagged it on 2026-09-25. As of 2026-10-19 the site was still online and serving its content.

How the scam works

Schemes like this borrow the authority of a state-backed or institutional fund and add urgency with a launch headline. Visitors are pushed to join early, which usually means sending crypto, handing over personal or account details, or connecting a wallet to an interface they cannot verify. No real fund stands behind the page. Whatever the victim deposits or authorizes goes to the operators and cannot be recovered through the site.

Evidence

Six of 91 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain in a scan on 2026-10-03: CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Gridinsoft, SOCRadar, URLQuery and VIPRE. That is a minority of engines, but they come from several unrelated vendors, so the verdict does not rest on one source. The domain also appears in four AlienVault OTX threat pulses, and PhishDestroy lists it on its blocklist.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2026-08-26 through Global Domain Group LLC. That is roughly a month before we detected it, which fits a site built quickly for a campaign. It resolves to 75.2.60.5 on Amazon.com, Inc. infrastructure in the US. Its Let's Encrypt certificate (YE2) is free and issued automatically, so the browser padlock only means the connection is encrypted. It says nothing about who runs the site or whether it is legitimate.

What to do

Do not send funds or pay any "activation" or "withdrawal" fee the site asks for later, because further payments only add to the loss. If you connected a wallet, revoke any token approvals granted during the visit and move remaining assets to a fresh wallet. If you entered passwords or identity details, change those passwords, turn on two-factor authentication and watch for follow-up contact pretending to be the fund. Defenders should block b17.info and 75.2.60.5 at DNS and proxy level and alert users to fund-launch lures that use the B17 Sovereign Index name.
