PhishDestroy threat report
1vnpay589.com is an impersonation phishing page that presented itself as 1VNPAY under the Vietnamese title "Kênh thanh toán hàng đầu Châu Á" ("Asia's leading payment channel"). The Vietnamese branding and payment-gateway framing point squarely at Vietnamese-speaking users who expect to move money through a trusted payment service. PhishDestroy first flagged the domain on 2026-09-29. The site has been offline since 2026-10-14 and was still dead at the last check on 2026-10-19.
Fake payment channels like this one borrow the look and name of a familiar payment brand so that a deposit or login request feels routine. Victims are typically asked to enter bank card details, banking app credentials or one-time codes, or to transfer funds into a balance or "payment channel" that the operators control. Whatever is typed or sent goes straight to the scammers. Victims can lose money outright, and stolen credentials and OTPs can be used to empty linked bank accounts.
On 2026-10-07, 13 of 92 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain. Vendors returning malicious verdicts included alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet, Gridinsoft, Kaspersky, LevelBlue and Lionic. These are independent vendors with their own detection pipelines, so their agreement supports the impersonation verdict even though most engines stayed silent. PhishDestroy lists the domain on its blocklist.
The domain was registered through GoDaddy.com, LLC on 2025-07-14, more than a year before PhishDestroy detected it. That long gap suggests the name was bought in advance and held until it was needed. The numeric suffix in "1vnpay589" fits a pattern of disposable brand-plus-number names that are easy to replace once one is blocked. Traffic was served through Cloudflare, Inc. (104.21.58.59, geolocated to CA), which puts a proxy in front of the real origin server and hides where the site was actually hosted.
If you entered card numbers, banking logins or OTP codes on this site, contact your bank immediately to block the card and flag the account. Then change your banking passwords and review recent transactions. If you sent money as a deposit or "fee," report it to your bank and to local police right away, and do not pay any further charges promised to unlock or refund your balance. Treat follow-up messages offering recovery help as a likely second scam. Defenders should block 1vnpay589.com and watch for lookalike 1VNPAY domains with different numeric suffixes.
