PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

PhishDestroy’s intake AI assessment classified the domain as malicious because it impersonates the OKX cryptocurrency exchange, using the brand name, logo and a page titled “欧易下载 - okx下载” that claims to provide official app downloads. The intake record notes an admin report combined with a high‑confidence phishing indication. The domain was first seen by PhishDestroy on 2026-10-22, when an HTTP 200 response was recorded.

How the scam works

In this category, attackers publish a replica of a legitimate exchange’s download or login page, lure victims with promises of official software, and then capture any credentials entered or deliver malicious binaries that can compromise wallets. The goal is to obtain account passwords, two‑factor tokens, or install software that harvests private keys.

Evidence

VirusTotal scanned the domain on 2026-10-22 with 92 engines and reported zero malicious or suspicious detections. Google Safe Browsing checked the same day and did not flag the site. External blocklists MetaMask and SEAL listed the domain as malicious, and PhishDestroy’s internal blocklist also contains it. urlscan.io captured the page on 2026-10-22; its overall verdict was clean, but its machine‑learning engine assigned a malicious score of 99 with phishing tags. Cloudflare Radar scanned the site on 2026-10-22 and returned a malicious phishing verdict with tags such as “Newly Seen Domains” and “Phishing”. OTX showed no pulses for the domain on that date.

Infrastructure

The recorded DNS A records pointed to 172.67.173.65 and 104.21.30.168, and AAAA records to 2606:4700:3031::6815:1ea8 and 2606:4700:3035::ac43:ad41, all served through Cloudflare’s network. How do phishing scams typically work?
