Overview

PhishDestroy listed weixinsg.org as a suspicious domain after a URLScan scan returned a malicious verdict on 2026-10-23. The recorded page title reads “微信，是一个生活方式”. The domain was first seen by PhishDestroy on 2026-10-23, three days after its registration on 2026-10-20, and returned an HTTP 200 response at that time. Google Safe Browsing checked the site on 2026-10-23 and did not flag it.

How the scam works

The detections label the site as phishing, a technique where attackers imitate a legitimate brand—in this case WeChat—to lure users into revealing credentials or personal data. No specific credential‑harvesting form or malicious payload was observed on the page, so the risk is inferred from the phishing classification rather than concrete behavior.

Evidence

URLScan recorded a malicious verdict with a score of 100 on 2026-10-23, categorising the site as phishing and associating it with the WeChat brand. How do phishing scams typically work?
