PhishDestroy threat report
v3-exodus.org is an impersonation phishing site built around the Exodus wallet brand. It targets people who hold crypto in Exodus. The "v3" prefix makes the address look like a new version or upgrade portal. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-16, and as of 2026-10-19 the site was still alive and serving content behind a protection layer.
Pages that copy a self-custody wallet like Exodus usually push a fake update, migration or verification step. That step ends with the visitor typing in their 12-word recovery phrase or installing a tampered app. Anyone who holds that phrase controls the wallet, so the attacker can empty it from their own device without any further action from the victim. When we checked, the page title read "Attention Required! | Cloudflare", a challenge screen rather than Exodus branding. Our classification as Exodus impersonation phishing still stands.
On 2026-09-24, VirusTotal showed 13 of 89 engines flagging the domain. The vendors included ChainPatrol, alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, ESET, Emsisoft, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet and Gridinsoft. Crypto-focused blocklists agree: MetaMask and SEAL list it alongside PhishDestroy, so wallet software that uses those lists can warn users before the page loads. The domain also appears in 4 AlienVault OTX threat pulses, which shows other researchers have tracked it independently.
The domain was registered on 2026-09-16, the same day PhishDestroy detected it. That pattern is typical of throwaway phishing domains set up for a fast campaign. It was registered through Hosting Concepts B.V. d/b/a Registrar.eu. It sits behind Cloudflare, Inc., with the edge address geolocated to Canada, which hides the origin server.
If you entered your Exodus recovery phrase on this site, treat the wallet as compromised. Create a new wallet with a fresh phrase on a clean device and move any remaining funds there right away. Never reuse the old phrase. If you downloaded anything from the site, uninstall it, scan the device, and reinstall Exodus only from the official source. If you connected a wallet and signed transactions, review and revoke any token approvals you do not recognise. Remember that Exodus never asks for your recovery phrase. Security teams should block the domain at DNS and proxy level and add it to wallet and email filtering lists.
