PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

spend-scout.com is an impersonation phishing site that poses as a legitimate service to win the trust of crypto users. Wallet-focused blocklists picked it up, which points to wallet holders as the intended victims. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-10-07. It has been offline since 2026-10-13, and when last checked on 2026-10-19 its content was blocked at the provider level.

How the scam works

Impersonation pages copy the look and wording of a service people already trust, then ask visitors to sign in, connect a wallet or enter a recovery phrase. Anything entered goes straight to the operators. A connected wallet can be asked to sign approvals or transfers that empty it. The page title showed only "Loading…" and no recognizable brand, though we classified the site as impersonation.

Evidence

Ten of 92 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain by 2026-10-11. The vendors include ChainPatrol, Kaspersky, Fortinet, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, Gridinsoft and Seclookup. That count is modest, but it matters that crypto-specific scanners and mainstream security vendors flagged it independently of each other. MetaMask and SEAL list it alongside PhishDestroy, so many wallet users would be warned before reaching it. Four AlienVault OTX threat pulses also reference the domain.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2026-09-30 through Fewmoretaps OU d/b/a Trustname.com, only a week before PhishDestroy detected it. That fast launch fits a short-lived operation set up for a single campaign. The site sat behind Cloudflare, with the address placed in Canada. Because of that proxy layer, the real origin server stays out of public view.

What to do

If you connected a wallet to this site, open a token-approval manager and revoke any permissions you granted around the time of your visit. Move your remaining funds to a new wallet if you signed anything you did not fully understand. If you typed a seed phrase or private key, treat that wallet as compromised and transfer its assets immediately. If you entered a password, change it everywhere you reuse it and turn on app-based 2FA. Security teams should block the domain at DNS and proxy level and add it to their wallet-phishing watchlists.
