How the scam works

A domain that sits unused for that long before going live can arrive with a cleaner reputation than a brand-new one. The site sits behind Cloudflare's network at an address geolocated to Canada, which hides the real origin server. Its certificate from Google Trust Services means only that the connection is encrypted. The padlock says nothing about whether the site is legitimate.
