PhishDestroy threat report
pay-bitrcfill.com is a fraudulent site impersonating Bitrefill, the legitimate cryptocurrency gift-card and top-up service, targeting users who hold or transact with crypto wallets. PhishDestroy first identified it on 2026-10-15, the same day the domain was registered, indicating it was flagged almost immediately after launch. The site is now dead and its content unreachable as of 2026-10-19, meaning the operators have likely abandoned or migrated the infrastructure.
The site presented itself as a Bitrefill shopping cart — its page title was "Cart - Bitrefill" — designed to catch users mid-purchase and prompt them to connect a crypto wallet to complete payment. Once a wallet connection is established, a drainer script requests broad token-approval transactions that, if signed, allow the attacker to transfer assets out of the victim's wallet without any further interaction. The victim loses whatever tokens and approvals are exposed at the moment of signing.
VirusTotal returned zero detections across 92 scanning engines on 2026-10-15, meaning automated antivirus coverage was absent at the time of checking. Despite that, three independent threat-intelligence feeds published OTX pulses against this domain, and it was added to the blocklists maintained by PhishDestroy, MetaMask, and SEAL. Spamhaus classified the domain as DBL_SPAM, providing an additional independent signal of malicious use. The page title showing a Bitrefill cart conflicts with the crypto drainer classification; we report both as observed without drawing further conclusions.
The domain was registered on 2026-10-15 through NICENIC INTERNATIONAL GROUP CO., LIMITED and hosted on IP 62.60.226.39, within the FEMOIT FEMO IT SOLUTIONS LIMITED network based in GB, with the server physically located in DE. A Let's Encrypt YR2 certificate was used to provide HTTPS, a free and automated issuer commonly seen on short-lived fraudulent domains.
If you visited the site and connected a wallet, immediately revoke all token approvals granted to any contract associated with that session using a trusted approval-management tool, and move remaining assets to a fresh wallet address. Do not sign any pending transaction requests that originated from this site. If you entered payment or account credentials, treat them as compromised and change them on the legitimate Bitrefill platform. Security teams and wallet providers should ensure pay-bitrcfill.com and its hosting IP are present in their blocklists and alert users who may have interacted with it before 2026-10-19.
