Overview

oix-okx.com.cn posed as the official download portal for OKX, the exchange known in China as 欧易. The extra "oix" prefix and the .com.cn ending are built to catch Chinese-speaking users searching for the OKX mobile app. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-10-16. The site went offline on 2026-10-19 and was still dead when last checked that day.

How the scam works

The page title, "欧易 OKX App - 欧易移动端 | 行情交易资产app" (OKX App, OKX mobile, market, trading and assets app), copies the wording of a genuine app landing page. Fake exchange download portals like this typically lead visitors to a counterfeit app or a cloned login screen. Whatever the victim types into it, whether exchange password, 2FA codes or a wallet recovery phrase, goes straight to the operators. With a seed phrase or a live account session they can empty the victim's holdings.

Evidence

urlscan.io rated the page malicious and identified OKX as the imitated brand. The domain is listed by PhishDestroy, MetaMask and SEAL, and Spamhaus carries it in its DBL as a spam domain. VirusTotal tells a different story: none of its 92 engines flagged the site on 2026-10-16. A clean VirusTotal result on a two-day-old lookalike reflects how slowly antivirus vendors catch fresh phishing domains, and it should not be read as a sign the site is safe.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2026-10-14 through Beijing-based registrar 北京新网数码信息技术有限公司 (Xin Net) and was caught just two days later. That short lifespan, followed by a shutdown on 2026-10-19, fits a disposable campaign domain. It was hosted on the COGNETCLOUD-2 network (cognetcloud INC, US), with the server located in Hong Kong. Its TrustAsia LiteSSL certificate is a low-cost domain-validated certificate, so the browser padlock proved only that traffic was encrypted, not that OKX ran the site.

What to do

If you installed an app from this site, delete it and get OKX only from its official website or a recognized app store. If you entered your OKX login, change the password immediately, reset 2FA, sign out all sessions, and check for unfamiliar API keys, withdrawal addresses or device authorizations. Anyone who typed a seed phrase into this site or its app should consider that wallet compromised and move remaining funds to a newly generated wallet. Security teams should block the domain and 38.76.193.119 and watch for similar OKX lookalikes on .cn domains.
