PhishDestroy classifies it as a fraudulent gambling site aimed at players in Norway. We first flagged it on 2026-09-27. The site has been offline since 2026-10-02, and its hosting provider was still blocking the content when we last checked on 2026-10-19.
How the scam works
Fake casino fronts like this one use a recognizable brand name, local-language pages and generous welcome bonuses to persuade visitors to register and fund an account. Because RainBet is known as a crypto casino, deposits are typically requested in cryptocurrency, and those transfers cannot be reversed. The balance shown on screen is often just a number on the site. When players try to cash out, these operations usually invent obstacles such as wagering conditions, verification charges or "withdrawal fees", and the money never comes back.
Evidence
Seven of 91 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain as of 2026-09-29: ChainPatrol, alphaMountain.ai, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Gridinsoft, Kaspersky, Seclookup and SOCRadar. That is a modest count, but it combines crypto-focused scanners with mainstream security vendors. Beyond PhishDestroy, the domain is listed by MetaMask and SEAL, the two blocklists that matter most to crypto wallet users. It also appears in four AlienVault OTX threat pulses, so other analysts have independently tracked it.
Infrastructure
The domain was registered through Namecheap on 2026-07-20, about ten weeks before it reached our blocklist. That is a typical gap for a short-lived scam front that is built, promoted and then abandoned. Traffic ran through Cloudflare with a Canadian network location. Because Cloudflare acts as a proxy, this location does not reveal where the actual server was or who operated it.
What to do
If you deposited money or crypto on norainbet.com, stop sending funds. Do not pay any fee, tax or verification charge to unlock a withdrawal, because these payments only add to the loss. Save your account details, transaction hashes and any messages, then report the case to your bank or card issuer and to the police. Be wary of anyone who later offers to recover your money for an upfront fee, since this is a common follow-up scam. Defenders should block the domain, watch for similar RainBet lookalikes targeting Norwegian users, and report new variants to registrars and hosting providers.
